Welcome to Orthopaedic Sports Specialists the practice of Micael E. Joyce, MD and Alex G. Dukas, MD. Our team is dedicated to providing you the greatest care possible. Our unique combination of onsite resources such as X-ray, ultrasound, physical therapy, and our commitment to each patient is what makes Orthopaedic Sports Specialists extraordinary.
Dr. Michael E. Joyce and Dr. Alex G. Dukas are Orthopedic Surgeons who both believe in an evidence-based and multidisciplinary approach to treatment for their patients. They are both highly trained in minimally invasive arthroscopic treatments of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. They are complimented by a skilled and caring staff. While surgery may be required for some, it is just part of the picture. The treatment philosophy at Orthopaedic Sports Specialists is to develop treatment plans that utilize non-surgical alternatives whenever possible. When surgery is necessary, however, a comprehensive treatment plan that includes pre- and post-operative physical therapy is tailored for each patient. Most surgeries are outpatient procedures, and physical therapy begins within 1-3 days of the procedure. Our surgeons will take the time needed to describe every aspect of the procedure to the patient, including post-operative protocols, recovery time, risks and benefits, and much more. Each plan is individualized to the specific needs of the patient and focused on getting you back to your pre-injury self. Our staff is always available to answer questions and concerns.
We are pleased to have you as a patient. If you have any questions, always feel free to contact our office and our trained staff will be happy to assist you in any way possible.
